Descolada

The second alien species that the Prime Collective made contact with, the descolada is a microbiological sentient virus that quickly spreads over a planet. The descolada slowly causes all biological material it comes into contact to mutate and dissolve, breaking into base components and forming a reddish glob. The descolada slowly spreads throughout the entire planet, increasing its sentience as it goes. The first contact was made with the descolada on a planet that had been entirely assimilated with the descolada, giving it immense intelligence. When the first explorer party landed and died within three hours, the contact ship departed. Thus little is known about the descolada or its abilities.
